Something Witchy Is Taking Shape at Black C Art

For the past couple of months, the Creatives at Black C Art have been conjuring something new. Which Witch brings together movement, music, prose, and incantations in a 50-minute immersive performance, with perhaps one too many spiders along the way.

Featuring Ani Collier, the work unfolds through physical storytelling, where a gesture can reveal as much as a spoken word. Poetry and rituals mingle with original music and atmospheric sound, drawing audiences into an intimate world of mystery. Deep blue lighting preserves the feeling of darkness, while projections evoke moonlit woods and drifting fog. Together, these elements invite viewers into the story’s shifting landscape.

At its center is a question: Is she a witch, or an innocent girl lost to the dark forces of our times? As the story unfolds, the distance between her world and our own begins to feel a little smaller. Perhaps there’s a little witch in all of us.

With narration and direction by Lauren Warhol Caldwell, sound design by Tom Miller, and light design by Bob Robbins, Which Witch continues Black C Art’s exploration of what happens when artists build a world together.

For those looking to gather their own coven, private showings are also available for groups of 2–15, followed by an hour of wine, champagne, chocolate, music, and conversation. Costumes are welcome, though no spell requires them.
